I don't get it, so he looked at rules about not creating dual accounts and whatnot, how is that a crime? Taking a page from G.W. Bush's NSA policy? Why would he try registering as "Duncan"? How do they know it's HF who is doing this?
 
A review of the server logs shows that he viewed three different pages with warnings against duals in the week before he began posting under "his own name" again -- two pages before he tried to register, and one soon after, yet he still attempted to log in as "Duncan" for days.

Holy shit. I always knew that it would be probably be possible to track people by IP, but that it would be so boring and time consuming that nobody would ever to it.

So, if they don't like you, then they will track every view, every page you download. Scary.
 
hey A Karas or Cait...wanna have someone help me out? My account ( steel) cant log into the forums, all i see is the awaiting authorization page...3 months of this screen is enough!!!!
 
screw it i signed back up as Bladev1, now I just need to figure out how to have them cancel my other accounts....

Has it been that long of a wait for you? I wish I could help you out, man. But, I wouldn't want to doanything that would jeopardise you from being accepted to EI, no matter how much good intention is involved. I'm not staff. :(

As soon as he showed up I bet they began looking for something. Do you know how many referrals and crap you'd need to look at on the server to track that all down? No one does that who isn't looking to find something--anything.

And I still don't know how they even did that, HF is a truck driver and must have been logging in at different locations.

If he even did any of this. Anyone who wants to 'get someone' that bad.. well, I just wonder if he even did it. Hell, he doesn't even have a dual on TK, why would he bother with one on EI?
 
Not only that, but the timing is suspicious. They've been discussing it for days, [or so Banapis says] and that coincides with a little tiff on the Beach.
 
I'm afraid to ask anything since all I will probably get is smokesreen and contempt from some members. I don't even think HF knows of this yet either. Hopefully, he'll contact the staff.
 
Lord of the Sword made a good point. Why are they saying to ask a Watch Dog to explain this? Watch Dogs have nothing to do with decisions of the mods or admins.

And how do you know this? Have any proof? If he did, then I agree, no big deal. If he didn't, then it IS a big deal. Right now, all we have is what EI's staff says, which, unfortunately, doesn't add up completely...again.

Just be straight with members.

Admins hesitant to give answers always stinks....
 
I wouldn't say they lied, per se. More like they're not telling the whole story which bugs the hell out of me since it is supposedly a board based on democracy and openess.
