Housemates get the whole of Ugly Betty to be prepped for interview

Is this real life?
When [STRIKE]whoever gets voted out[/STRIKE] Jo gets voted out, she'll have a whole hour to be briefed on the racialism and stuff. That's terrible! She should face the world immediately!!

From the sounds of the crowd the racists are all out there to cheer her on.

Jo and Dirk leaving together to boos, a travesty.

Why is Betty dressed up as a butterfly next week?

Who cares, seriously, does anyone watch it?

NOT ME!

It's the highest rated new show of the season in the US.

She's dressed as a butterfly in the Halloween episode, which was rerun here last night.

I watch it, although I don't feel it lives up to hype. It's good, but the story is kinda the same each week(Betty goes to work, gets run down by colleagues' comments, something happens, has to clear up mess, wins through in end) and the evil doer in a darkened room thing doesn't even interest me as a pastiche.

That element of it is very cliche and Bond Villanesque, but is done for comedy effect that way. I like it personally, it's a good show and America Ferrera is great.

Don't worry, the evildoer in the dark won't turn out to be Future Guy from ENT.

:) I could tell they were satirising those Bond stereotypes, I just don't think it's that fresh. It's been done a million times before, so it's not a great story arc to hook people on a brand new series.

There are plenty of other elements to enjoy though. I love Betty's gay nephew and whatshername.. the Scottish woman. She's been in a few things over here, including playing a bodyguard for Patrick Stewart.

So the Halloween episode comes after the Christmas one? Or were they just doing a shoot for Christmas a few months in advance tonight. CONFUSING IF ANYTHING.

That's what I like about it too, it's a totally gay show but there's something in it for everyone. Including cold rich bitches and illegal immigrants.

Ashley Jensen. She played Maggie in Extras.

...oh yeah. And Scot lovers.

Yeah, she was good in Extras too. At least the first series. The second series was a bit crap.

They did point out in the Uggly Betty ep tonight that they were doing the Christmas shoot in October. And they continued obsessing over the music box like it was a reject from a Desperate Housewives plotline.

They gotta do something to fill out an hour each week. Frankly I'm surprised it wasn't made as a half-hour comedy, but ultimately I'm glad it wasn't.

I watch it for Jim
