How can anyone accept Christianity

My main problem is, as Menty said more eloqunetly in the opening post, that all these stories were just made-up by man. Yes, Jesus was a real person but all the son of God? MORE LIKE THE SON OF FROG.

How come when Jesus was resurrected he only appeared to a couple of people? Surely he should have made a big public show of it so that everyone would know the Son Of God is Risen?
 
His return is supposed to be the event - fulfilling the OT prophesied avenger that the Jews thought he was supposed to be.

Besides, there was no CNN back then telling everyone how to believe, so no one woulda believed anyway.
