I'm batting for the other team on this one. As an American, I've always said & written "aluminum", but "aluminium" always sounded more right. 'Cause of it being a metal and all.

The REAL question people are afraid to ask is, how do you pronounce "Molybdenum"? And does anybody pronounce it "Molybdenium"?

I don't. I usually say 42 and wait to see the reaction on people's faces. Cracks me up everytime.

Well obviously I say it the way I was taught to say it which is ALUMINUM. If I was Tomtrek's neighbor I'd say aluminium, ALSO I'D WEAR REALLY COOL HATS AND THROW ROCKS AT HIS WINDOW IN THE MIDDLE OF THE NIGHT SO WE COULD DANCE OR SOMETHING.
