My schoolmate went shopping at a lingerie store and then later I asked her if she got some nice things but I felt like a total pervo for asking her because I don't know what is normal.
 
I thought girls were totally cool talking about things. Aren't guys supposed to have the hang-ups?

That is normal. Me asking about the lingerie would not be normal(well by society's standards anyway)
 
OK, maybe I am not exactly normal, but I would see nothing wrong with a guy asking if I got something nice from the lingerie store, either.

A sex shop, though, ok, that might be a bit awkward.

Or is "lingerie" a codeword for sex accessories, and I have severely and embarrassingly misunderstood hundreds of remarks throughout the years?
 
I say go ahead and ask her to model a few things for you. Normal doesn't exist.

IMHO it depends on how close friends you are - some of my oldest friends have no problem showing me their lingerie - usually when we're dancing and they're drunk.

interesting bit of trivia:The boys in the room never complain abut this.

Perhaps I didn't share that I was totally imagining her in said lingerie when I asked so I felt creepy. I have older friends that we can chat about everything, this was like an acquaintance, really cute acquaintance.
