Hummus Deleted me on Facebook

It's only natural that "normal" people will not appreciate the Darkness of Twilight. The books and films are not for anyone ... it's for deep souls who enjoy Darkness and Vampirism.

Dual, you're not crazy. Twilight fans are so fanatical and devoted about their books that they can't stand any negative opinion of them.

What's sad is that we've gotten to a point in society that these mediocre, tweeny, romance novels (that's what they are folks, deal) have become mainstream and accepted. I blame Harry Potter.

If my girlfriend started rabbiting on about wonderful Twilight is I'd not only refuse to respect her opinion on the matter I'd raise my finger to her mouth so as to stop her from continuing before turning about face and leaving her.
 
I watched Twilight. I didn't read the book, but one Suday afternoon I was bored and there is the whole torrent thing..... anyway. It was entertaining anough and it has most the the elements that girls love. Romance, forbidden love, 'bad' boys who are really not all that bad, bad boys who really ARE that bad, helplessness, being saved by the hero, good vs evil and so on. As a vampire story it pretty much... well...sucked.

The reason you guys hate it so much is because girls fantasize about Edward and no matter what none of you will ever look as good as Edward, be as charming as Edward, be as cool as Edward, you arent Edward. You hate Twilight because you are jealous of Edward.

Recent scenario: I'm in the grocery check out talking to the cashier, she apologizes for this mark on her neck, and swears it's not a hickey. I jokingly say it's weird because I happen to be reading a vampire novel. Her response:

"Oh, you're a fan of Twilight too?"

"No, this is a GOOD book!"

She shuts up, gives me a dirty look and bags my food.

For the record, the book was "The Strain", co-written by Guillermo del Toro.

This is the best thread ever. I can't believe I'm posting that. Vampires are cool, I mean if its there I'll watch it, or read it I don't care. I'm just not going to go out of my way to seek it out.

I know you're trollin, but I'll bite anyway.

Edward isn't charming or any of those things you say. He's an emo pretty-boy who is literally obsessed with a girl he goes to high school with. He's a castrated, effeminate view of how women want men to be. However, when you boil it down, girls don't want the loving, doting, obsessed hero. They want the douchebag who treats them like shit.
