Not really. Seriuosly I do not think of myself that highly, or maybe I do. Anyway (highly you say? That would be low in some cases) which will prove my point in a moment.
I was skimming an article, then thinking about all the opposition the President has. Of course not everyone is going to agree with the president...of course not everyone is going to be happy with decisions made.
I was thinking about this because I can please about 97% of my people. The other 3 % which I have been focusing too much time on are A-holes. They are people that would not be happy anywhere. They would find fault with anyone. At least I am telling myself this.
One person in particular demands perfection from everyone, and gets upset when they don't meet his standards-which is all the time. He is very upset at me that I don't demand the same high standards.
It must be a very frustrating place for him to work, I feel for him. You know the kind, he feels he is the only perfect one, the only one that takes pride in his job, the only one who cares.
My ship is a little more laid back. I lead with gentleness yet I am firm. I do not believe standing over people and pointing out thier every mistake will help them to work harder.
I do not know what to do with this one person.

You know, from him because of the substandard work by others, that brings the level of his own work down by association. And from the rest, that he thinks he's the boss. Is this one of the individuals you mediated for? You've got lots of managerial experience, what has been the most effective method of keeping peace so far?

Yes. It is very frustrating for them as well. Most seem to handle it in a mature way as most people do in thier jobs because there will always be that one person that most don't like. They try really hard, and they try to see his good points, they have tried several things.
However according to him they don't respect him like they should, and he seems to think it is my responsibility to make others respect him. I can keep peace with the others for the most part, but he is a constant thorn in my side that I dont' know how to deal with.
