Why isn't this thread in the Media Center? That's a better place for it, IMO.
I like the Minefield more. And I wanted it kinda jokey.

Yes.. we don't like to venture outside of the MF unless we have to. It gives us a rash.
I read something yesterday that said we will have some sympathy for Sylar and that he's gonna be the exploding guy not Peter. That means Ted is gonna bite it soon. errr.. I don't really have a question at the moment!
That's half right. In the latest issue of the graphic novels we discovered that in
Future Hiro's timeline it was Sylar who exploded, not Peter. Clearly in that timeline it was Sylar who was used by Linderman as his pawn, rather than Peter. Since Sylar has a similar ability to absorb powers it was just a matter of having him kill Ted, while in "our" timeline Peter merely needs to come into contact with Ted to absorb his power and be used by Linderman to blow up New York. Thusly, there's nothing to suggest Ted will die in our timeline.
Meanwhile, we are supposed to end up feeling sympathetic for Sylar, but it's not clear how that will come to pass, since he's tried to kill off half our favourite characters.

I have a question, in Itch and Scratchy episode 115, Itchy plays Scratchys ribs like a xylaphone and clearly gets two different notes from the same rib.
I hope someone got fired for this stupid mistake.
I'll let Captain Wacky field this one.

Here's the rub... doesn't Peter now have Sylar's power? He seems to only need a moment and he's got 'em. Wouldn't that mean every power Sylar has taken, too, or just the main power (to snatch other's powers). If it's the latter, would he then become super badass at it?
And, do you think it will be Peter that will threaten to go nuclear, or the dude Peter got the power from (redneck-dead-wife boy)?
Peter now has
all of Sylar's abilities. Though as we've seen previously, he's often only able to use them in extreme situations. He is getting much better, though. The more important question is whether he'll be able to use Sylar's powers that he hasn't seen in action. For instance, he's seen Sylar use psychokinesis, so he'll be able to use that when he needs to, but he probably doesn't realise Sylar has super hearing. Will he unlock powers he's not aware he has? The fact that he was able to fly before realising Nathan could suggests he should be able to use
all of these powers, but we won't know for sure until it happens.
As for the explosion, that remains to be seen. Peter's visions suck as far as accuracy is concerned. Out of the people he saw in his vision of himself exploding, Simone and Isaac are dead, Claire isn't a cheerleader anymore, and Matt isn't a policeman. The only vision of the future we can trust is Isaac's precognitive painting, but the image he painted of an exploding man was too indistinct to tell who it was. My sneaking suspicion is that the "bomb" will never go off. I mean, that's the point of heroes, right?

And from a narrative point of view, they're showing what happens if the bomb goes off in the next few episodes, so to have it happen and to deal with the aftermath again in the finale would be covering old ground.

Why didn't Mohinder simply KILL Sylar, if he had enough time to destroy his computer and carry Peter out?
In real life I put this down to lazy writing. The writers needed Sylar to live because they want him in the finale and beyond that, the second season. In story it can only be explained away by saying that Mo was in deep shock at Peter dying, shat himself and forgot to finish the job he had been determined to finish. Killing Sylar wasn't just the right thing to do, it was revenge for Chandra's death. Mohinder not going through with it has really pissed me off.
*breathes* My longest post ever, but I could go on for days.
