I don't smoke. Wolfy smoked when he was here, but that was over 2 years ago. He used my old Mac before he got his own laptop, so that got the brunt of the smoke.
This drive failed because it got dropped on the floor, but I figured it was just the USB plug that took the hit. the drive seemed pretty sound inside the case. But, we shall see.
I may try the Linux CD thing although I need to do more reading up on it so I don't make things worse. But I'm also looking into data recovery co's in the area. Shit, they charge so much...
