Scoring for England continues to elude him. Not through lack of effort either to be fair.

Despite winning 5-1 against Borat country we were poo for 90% of the match.

It's one of those types of results that doesn't tell you anything really. However, from the standpoint of goal difference, I was hoping for a cricket score today, just to capitalize on the Croatia result.

We were really awful. 5-1 sounds respectable but when you consider that it took an hour to score and that Kazakhstan were breaking all over the place and looked menacing for large periods of time it's not so impressive considering the KZ players get paid 150 quid a week and bought their footy boots in a Sport & Ski when they arrived in London for 50 knicker each because they were better than what they already had.

We saved it in the end with five goals all coming in quick succession but it was FAR from convincing.
