Water. The water was cut off earlier in the day and I must have left the tap "on" when I checked it. I went to sleep and of course the water was back on when I woke up. And had been for a long time considering there was an inch of water on the floor. The plug was is in the washing up bowl as well so the floor was the only option..

Luckily the floor is marble and there wasn't anything on the floor to damage. Still fucking annoying though.
 
If that happened in my place, I would be sitting in the apartment beneath me in a pile of rubble.
 
This is not the kitchen, this is, Oh Nevermind.

Now I almost picture that you might become one of those people who check and double check the faucet now everytime you leave the house. Don't become obsessed! It will be ok!

fricking southern europeans. when I stayed at my parents' apt. in Rome I noticed all their floors were marble too. nice and cool underfoot when it's hot.
 
p.s. YES, I am jealous.
 
When I was a kid my grandpa got a bunch of marble when they tore a building down, we had a marble back porch. It was slicker than shit when it got wet.. busted my ass a few times!
