I just don't understand boxing at all

Why do you guys do that? Box? Knock each other's teeth out, break bones, split skin, crush ribs, etc...... I mean, that has to hurt and its not like it improves your looks. Shsh. Why do you guys do that?

Ah boxing, my favorite sport.

The real beauty of boxing is the ability of the weaker guy to decimate the larger stronger guy if he is a better fighter. It can be brutality, but the beauty of the sport comes out when two fighters are evenly matched.

A well timed jab (just a flick really) can create havoc, and that's a beautiful thing.

What's really the problem is the corruption in the sport, resulting in fixed fights, and even worse, mismatches.

The best fight in the world ever was Ali vs Foreman in Africa. Ali showed how a skilled jab (and the ability to cause the opponent to endlessly miss and become tired) could result in a knockout that was truly awesome to behold.

I watch a lot of MMA, that's a completely different sport. It has its moments but is for the unskilled fighter in general.

Unskilled? It takes years of training to get to their level. They study several forms of martial arts and each one requires intense study and concentration.

A man can become a boxer in under six months.
