Most action/thriller/horror movies are discriminated against by the critics, by virtue of them belonging to the aforementioned genres.

"Critics" don't seem to recognize acting talents in movies that primarily involve gunfire, screaming, flying eyeballs, et cetera. Therefore, a poorly written/acted/directed drama movie which revolves around "interesting" subjects like racism, homosexuality, criticism of religion/social norms is more likely to please the "critics" than very good movie that happens to have a three digit body count.

I'll watch anything with Timothy Olyphant in it. That's why I suffered through Catch & Release.
 
Equilibrium and The Count of Monte Cristo don't deserve to just be "guilty pleasures", they're both really good films.

Equilibrium gets way too much stick from people who seemed to be expecting The Matrix and got something like 1984 instead.
 
Equilibrium was a nice surprise. I was expecting the average action shtick, but it's really a great movie.
 
Is Transformers a guilty pleasure? I've seen it about 10 times now, and I never get tired of it, lol.
 
I don't need to mention liking the Star Wars prequels, I'm sure.

AND GREMLINS TWO.
 
Just watched Hitman. Not a bad movie all things considered. Not going to be winning any awards but it was fun.
 
It has T-Bag from Prison Break and Desmond from Lost in it as well playing Russians with notably overdone Russian accents.

Robert Picardo, Lionel Luthor, that guy I confuse with Robert Loggia sometimes, Phoebe Cates, Christopher Lee, Hulk Hogan, GIZMO...best cast ever.
 
I prefare Gremlins 2 to the first one.
 
It was just all out craziness.
 
damn! Menty just reminded me - I totally forgot to tell Cassie Desmond from Lost was in Hitman.
