Losing a pet is never easy. They become members of the family. Keep in mind that you gave your cat the best possible life she could've had. I'm sure she was very happy and loves you very much. Some people believe that when we lose pets that were very close to us, they become guardians, and watch over us.

It still hits me sometimes. And I think I was sadder over that than people dying-but w/e its actually been sort of a crappy year this year for deaths-so it kind of numbs you after like the 3rd one.

It depends on the pet. Some hit much harder than others.
 
20 years is a long fucking time. Used to heal that by getting a new one. Ah well soon.
