this is so weird, MFERS! I was just going to post this under the heading :
Don't Fear me, Martha Stewart !
So I spent all frigging morning prepping for this new class tonight. But, I still had to really put some serious work on this "stain glass window" that's going in Henry Higgins' den. So I thought I'd make a chicken pot pie for the minions; dinner tonight cuz it's easy to assemble and basically just cooks itself.
EXCEPT I missed the little detail that the frozen puff pastry that rolls out easily and goes on top to make the crust, has to in fact, not be frozen.
Which it surely was.
Solidly.
The rolling pin sorta bounced off it.
So, I get the BRIGHT IDEA to put it on the microwave and do quick defrost for 3 minutes.
So it came out oozing liquid and the dough was all sticky.
So I grabbed it and pulled and sort of stretched it around the top of the pie....
the Good News is that I didnt have to poke holes in the crust to vent for steam....
it's cooked now; doesnt look very puffy....
