I wanted to get a pic of the cars and pick up trucks parked out on the ice by the fishing shacks, but by the time I came back with my camera they'd left for dinner.

depends where they live. The wussies in big cities down south like Toronto don't.
but I DO know peeps who keep theirs handy in their trunks all winter....
not me, alas, I suck at skating. Only do it when visiting relatives (and then you stand out if you're the only one NOT skating).
...prolly why I turned heel and fell in with soccer hooligans.
