Well, I've got this far: It's a ribbon diagram for a protein or enzyme or somesuch biomolecular structure. It could be anything from Ebola to brown sugar --there are tens of thousands of these things on the sites I've been looking through.

Initial observances: the writing appears to be Arabic...islands in lower left corner look similar to Hispaniola & the Lesser Antilles, but everything left & upward of it is wrong for that & too well defined to be 'terrra incognito' conjecture...some birds that could be parrots...or not...
