Imaginary paper cuts

On my desk at work I have both a scanner with automatic document feeder and a printer, sometimes as I see the edges of the paper being fed into the machines I imagine that either would deliver a very nasty paper cut if my hand was too close, and just the act of thinking that makes me feel the paper cut as if it had actually happened.

Stupid brain and its over active imagination!

it's not uncommon for people with amputated limbs to feel an itch or tickle on the limb that is no longer there. i guess this applies here too, the "phantom papercut". or some shit.
