In Which I Cause WF To Strangle Itself TO DEATH.

The crux of the situation is that they are being forced, through their own rhetoric and beliefs and the hole they have dug themselves into for four years, to vote for an elderly dementia patient over an eccentric bully who happens to get shit done which they don't approve of. Each one of them has that same appearance on their face as an 18-year old college freshman who is being coerced into giving her professor a blow job.

He's insane.

You say that like it's a bad thing.

Could you work for him?

Yes.

And what shit did he get done.

Start with one of his campaign promises that he got done. Just one.

I'll tell ya one he didn't keep, and that was putting Hillary Rodham Clinton in the stout house where she belongs. I think it was explained to him on his first day in that fucking with her was a bad move, because he changed his tune really quick after his briefing with Obama.

To this day, I've felt that the fanaticism in the Red Room started in Media Central. It seemed when the first Abramsverse movie came out that if you expressed any dislike of it the people over there were like

"Oh no! You can't criticize the new Star Trek! It's perfect. If you say you don't like it you've got to be trolling!!!!. I think I got some warnings for that with the announcement by ShootER that "if you're voicing an opinion that you know almost everyone disagrees with then you're trolling and trying to disrupt the board.

It got even worse with Discovery. "This is great Star Trek. They say 'fuck' and have lesbians!."

Apparently a more "adult" Star Trek has nothing to do with story anymore but it is adult if it has the worst expletives possible and sexual deviants.

Ironically, the "if you're voicing an opinion that you know almost everyone disagrees with" was one of the main complaints about me on the TrekBBS. Wordforge inherited the TrekBBS idiocy.

OK. Missmanners. I love you in so many ways. But if you can't see what Trump has accomplished, take a deep breath and take the blinders off. Prior to the 'rona we had the lowest unemployment in recorded history. More jobs than job hunters. Lower unemployment for minorities than ever. Stock market through the roof. ISIS? Wiped out. A new and historic peace accord in the Middle East. Getting out of the endless wars in Iraq, Afghanistan, and Germany. Prison reform. That's just off the top of my head.

Dayton, my sweet, sweet goofball. I really think you're a troll savant that doesn't even realize what he's doing. The beginning of WF's doom is...shit. It's too complex to coherently explain or pinpoint on the spot. So I'm going to peel the onion from the outside.

We got to where we are today because wonky academic commie shills like Mister Hanky and Analcalgon think communism works if you just try hard enough. And they refuse to hear any suggestions from anyone who isn't them. So they set up the Five Year Plan we're currently power-augering into the ground with. BUT...

They wouldn't be there if Lanzman hadn't given them the board. And Lanzman wouldn't have given them the board if Elwood hadn't given Lanzman the board. You see, Lanzman is probably a decent guy. I've had beers with him. But he's weak. And Mister Hanky and Analcalgon beat him down and played on his weakness to get the board. Elwood gave him the board because Elwood knew he was weak. Elwood could put him "in charge" and know he could still "pull the strings" if he wanted to.

Which brings me to Elwood. And Borgs. And Cass. And/or Pablo Diablo. Before I was a member there, WF was allegedly created by "Pablo Diablo," Cass' "brother," who fairly quickly handed the board over to Cass. Oddly enough, you never saw "Pablo" and Cass in the same room together. But I digress. For whatever reason, Cass handed the board over to Borgs. For his faults--which were basically faggoting up the board with lots of stupid ugly buggy graphics that no one wanted and a fascination with Internet piracy--really built up the board. I have a Wordforge mousepad laying around here somewhere. So for whatever reason, Elwood saw his opening and staged a slick coup to wrest control of the board from Borgs. And the rest, as they say, is history.

So I'd say at the most basic level the downfall of WF wasn't that JJ Abrams rebooted Star Trek, it was letting "visionaries" get in control of the board. At a deeper level, I'd lay it on Elwood's coup, back around 2006.

It got even worse with Discovery. "This is great Star Trek. They say 'fuck' and have lesbians!."

Interesting side note: The PG no swearing thing in Trek? It's actually canonical that humans just... evolved beyond that. (Absurd, I realize, but remember in The Voyage Home when Kirk tries his hand at it and sounds like a complete doofus? "Well... a double dumbass on you!") Of course, neither Kurtzman nor anybody in the Discovery writers room knew that, because neither Kurtzman nor anybody in the Discovery writers room gives a shit about Star Trek.

You sure know alot about the people at wordforge. To me most of the usernames simply run together and I can't even tell them apart. Especially if their usernames have any kind of similarity or simply a similar "theme" or "vibe". I wasn't joking when I posted that I often couldn't tell Tuckerfan and shootER apart.

Why did Elwood wrest control of wordforge from Borgs if he gave the board away to Lanzman in the first place?

And who is Mister Hanky? I don't remember that username.

Jesus Christ, Gul/Mr. Hanky and Shep/Nova really are dense. Over on the Facebook page I posted a link both toa story about story about a major pro-Transexual transitioning paper getting retracted for being scientifically unsound as well as a link to the original retracted paper. Shep/Nova went around quoting the retracted paper as if it wasn’t retracted while Gul/Mr Hanky claimed I didn’t read when the text clearly says above the link that it was too the retracted study. The retraction stats the exact opposite of what they are claiming but they didn’t read that part.

Talk about low IQ dumbasses.

Whatever happened to the Wordforge Facebook page?

Not really. Given that both Scotty and McCoy used "bitch" in the movies ("I bet that Klingon bitch killed her own father!" - Scotty, Star Trek VI), ("That green-blooded son-of-a-bitch!" - McCoy, Star Trek III), and show (Picard's nephew Rene told him that his brother Robert called him an "arrogant son of a..." before being cut off by Picard) the number of times Kirk asked "What the hell are you doing?" in TOS, Picard saying "Merde" (the French word for "shit") in TNG twice ("The Last Outpost", "Elementary, Dear Data"), Data saying "Oh, shit!" in "Generations"... Trek has always thrown in profanity when it could get away with it.

This is just my theory, but I think it is right: Elwood liked being in charge. But he didn't like paying to keep the board up and running and the duties of being in charge. So he found himself an easily manipulated "useful idiot" who would pay the bills and be a figurehead but was weak enough that Elwood could pull the strings behind the scenes. Tamar and a few others helped Lanz hold it together for a bit, but the problem is, if you set up a weak puppet, it works both ways and Gul and Anc got to work on him and eventually beat him down, made him hate owning the board, and got control of it for themselves. And interestingly enough, gul never EVER posts there anymore. Why is that? I don't know.

:pissed:

(I like the totally pathetic and ineffectual "anti-theft" code built in. Jesus. It's like wet tissue paper for all it stops anything. ROFLMAO)

I can’t say one bad word about Kurtzman Trek without Dicky and his followers dog piling on me. They refuse to acknowledge any criticism of it.

Possibly society saw a major backslide, then, between TVH and what came after. Not as if society devolving is implausible, after all. Looking at you, Democrat run erstwhile-cities-cum-large-scale-bonfires.
