Indy 4 PISSED ME OFF!!

Yes, its so much harder to beleive than jumping out of an airplane in an inflatable life raft, traveling a 1000 miles at sea holding onto a periscope, or 1000 year old traps that use light sensative sensors, and employ perpetual motion engines to thrust out spikes then pull them back as many times as nessisary.

Mythbusters did an episode on that and found it could be remotely plausible.

traveling a 1000 miles at sea holding onto a periscope,
Weakly justified here.

Now you're being to vague for me to follow.

Opening scene raiders of the lost ark in the treasure cave.

Indy says, "keep out of the light", he puts his hand in the light, the spikes come out with Forestal stuck on them, the spikes withdraw again, later Sapido falls victim to the same trap.

Those are just three examples from the original trilogy, someone posted about 30 implauable things from the trilogy over at TrekBBS.

And thats not taking into account that all you need to do to not get your face melted by god is to close your eyes, or that if your heart is pulled out by a witch doctor you can keep living, or that a knight from the crusades could stay alive that long by drink

Depends what you consider to be more likely.

Aliens, or that god and everything in the bible is real.

Lucas absolutely LOVES spiritual-based movies. The ENTIRE Star Wars Saga was biblical. Vader was the anti-Christ. Just look at the Obi-Wan/Skywalker fight scene in Episode 3. They talk about the sith dealing in absolutes, etc. That's a philosophical/religious diatribe if I've ever heard one. Shit, I'm sure someone else and I have had that very same argument here at TK.

That, and Lucas and Spielberg originally decided to do the Indy series because they both loved the 1950's action serials so much. The whole thing is based on a comic book theory. As Jack and his followers can tell you, ANYTHING can happen in a comic book.

Though, the History Channel did a peice on Indy and the parallels between Indy's form of archaeology and real archaeology. They showed that there are a LOT of similarities between Indy and real life. I'll have to dig up some vids and post some links.

QUOTED FOR TRUTH!!!

Don't let these bitches get you down, whisky...I enjoyed the hell out of KotCS and I'm also tired of those bastards as the TBBS bitching and whining about how it's not high art.

It's not supposed to be high art, but they of course missed that point while they were very likely downloading porn and shoving Boba Fett action figures up their asses.

Sorry, it's just...dammit, I too am tired of the nerd whining over there.

If you frequent the place, you'll recognize who I am there by my defense of Temple of Doom in a recent thread, in which I also mention my love of KotCS.

Hey there biotech! I am, of course, the non-zombified version of myself here over there.

I think I just confused myself...
