It must really suck to be emotionally invested in life

CaptainWacky

I want to smell dark matter
well, not when things are going well

The sweet wouldn't be as
sweet without the sour

Just makes it worse when things go wrong. Frankly the lesser your expectations of reality the less you can get battered by it. The adage of avoiding life so as to avoid pain is accurate and workable as much as it is counter-productive in-of-itself. It's a juggling act. If you never roll the dice you never know; but you can still fail either way. Depends how much of an investment you put on the table though. And if you put nothing down?

Well you're either content with what you have or too scared of the big lose. If it's the latter then you probably have something to escape and are scared of the consequences of the potential loss if you fuck it all up.

I'm an alcoholic and there are too many bright colours.

LOL. Just so you know, the wheel isn't spinning. It's you.

I'm only playing if I get to be the stoner burnout on the verge of his thirties!

There should be a different game.

Confine yourself to observing and you always miss the point of your own life. The object can be stated this way: Live the best life you can. Life is a game whose rules you learn if you leap into it and play it to the hilt. Otherwise, you are caught off balance, continually surprised by the shifting play. Non-players often whine and complain that luck always passes them by. They refuse to see that they can create some of their own luck.

LOL YES IT'S DUNE CAUSE I'M READING IT AND I'M OBSESSED WITH IT i'LL BE FINISHED IN A FEW DAYS, OK?

I'd prefer life to be a game show. Blinking lights and bells and buzzers.

Like roaming through a casino floor for 80+ years...that's heaven for me.

I'd prefer life to be like Star Trek.. adventuring through the galaxy having sex with aliens

Some people are more equiped for learning the rules.

I want the work week to be over...

Hang in there, Dr. Dave!

Emotional investment requires diversification of your portfolio to avoid unwanted risk.
