Japan 0 - Croatia 0

yep

Deserved a goal, really. Both teams worked industrially. As far as 0-0's go, it wasn't too bad, but then any match without a goal is destined for the dustbin. I watched one between Leeds & Newcastle United in 1996, and there wasn't a single shot on goal.

What a pity, too - I found it a very entertaining match, no goals aside. Thought the Keepers made some beautiful saves - especially the Japanese guy!

You cannot be serious. You must have missed one shot. Absolutey no way there was not a shot on goal.

No, I'm not joking. The lads and I got the beers in to watch it, and the commentators slagged it off something chronic. Perhaps I should reclarify a little by saying not one shot on target. Even then, I think there were less than 5 shots at goal in the entire match. This was the same season Newcastle played West Ham, with Ludek Miklosko in goal, drew 0-0 yet had over 40 shots on target.

A lot of beer I'm assuming, that or you're a big NewCastle fan.

My mate at Uni was a Geordie, and we all watched a lot of footy.

I know a lot of British slang, but what is a Geordie?

It's not slang - it's colloquial for people born and brought up in the Newcastle area. Look it up at Wikipedia. Alan Shearer is a Geordie, and they have a very distinictive accent / dialect.

Oh, sort of like a what a Scoucer is for Liverpool. I get it.
