Jericho

Fuddlemiff!! I started watching the reruns, and CBS decided they'd show the pilot (last week) then a recap special.. and then skip to about the 11 or 14 episode. I am so confused. Is the black guy a good guy? Is he really in the FBI? I'm so pissed that they're not going to show all the episodes!! :rwmad: I've heard that a lot of the eps were not that great, but it's hard to follow without seeing all of them.

Last night ended with the chick texting to someone on her little phone thing about "the package" and saying she'd use his family against him to find it.

I heard they were planning to do that. It's true, most of the episodes they're cutting out are.. well, not crap, but they're disposable. If I'd been watching it once a week like everybody else instead of downloading and watching three eps in one sitting, I might've given up.

I'll have to have a look at what happened in those episodes.. The black guy(Hawkins) IS good, but the woman isn't. One big thing that happens in those missing episodes is Grey Anderson becomes mayor. And he's such a clueless twat, they're lucky they're still alive. But he went out on a mission to find out what was going on and saw all the carnage. Another thing that might've happened by episode 11 is Johnson getting really ill, so the sons go off to a hospital to get supplies and meet a doctor who comes back to the town. They also bump into these guys called Ravenwood who are mercenaries working for the government to maintain order. But they're nutcases only out for themselves and they end up attacking Jericho and the townsfolk plant bombs on the only bridge into town, so Ravenwood fuck off but attack another town. Oh and there's an EMP which knocks out all the electrical equipment and they spot counterstrike missiles being lunched by the US.

That's most of the important stuff..

Oh yeah, I saw some of that in the recap. It was all so squished together that it was hard to tell what was really going on. The hospital part, and Ravenwood.. oh and in the episode they aired last night, they went to a fair grounds that was turned into a flea market type place. The kid tried to steal the part from the guy who had all the bunkbeds with handcuffs on them. What was he up to with all that? I guess he's got some kind of slave market going on? And the kid.. the one who took over running the store, he's a little bad ass isn't he?

Anyway, I like the show, it reminds me of a book I read once about the nuclear destruction of the US.. except the people got these horrible growths on their heads and when they finally cracked off it showed their true nature.

LOL, yeah. He had to take it over when the lady who owned it was murdered.

I've always liked disaster movies.. it's an interesting concept wondering what you'd do in the characters' situation. And the fact that Jericho is a series means they can explore the plot lines more. Plus there's the whole Lost style mystery angle.

Jericho is one of those shows where you just have to suspend disbelief. I've watched all of it, and most of it wasn't pretty. I think CBS is doing them a favor by skipping over the first half of the season, because most of it was awful. I can see how new viewers would be confused, though.

Just go with it from where they started last night, and you might enjoy it.

All the reviews I've read have been less than favourable (THEY THINK IT SUCKS.)

I love apocalyptic science fiction, so I'll stick with it. Now and then they'll do something that I know is ridiculous. Like when they escaped from the flea market.. there's no way they could've gotten away from the guards, who were heavily armed, which just one gun. Anyway stuff like that doesn't bother me too bad. I'll stick with it.

PLUS Skeet Ulrich is cute! He was much cuter when he was younger but he's still a cutie.

Don't you think he looks like a stoner? He has permanently squinty red eyes.

The reviewers probably only watched the beginning when it was exactly like one of those crumby disaster tv movies you get late at night, but by the end it's brilliant. The last few episodes are really good, though you can tell they were spending too much on it.

He does look like a stoner.. maybe it's because of all the radioactive dust!
