That's from 1976. That is interesting. I didn't realize that Trek was recognized enough then to be used in adverts.

Didn't it become popular with hippies when it was repeated (re-runned) in the seventies? Hippies would think the toys were "way out".

In the UK, it was still in first run episodes around that time, on BBC1 directly opposite coronation street.

I remember that because we only had one tv, so I had to go watch star trek with some neighbours on the 7th floor.

Ironically, one of them was the caretaker.
