As seen during WWE WrestleMania 41 Sunday, Iyo Sky defeated Rhea Ripley and Bianca Belair to retain her women’s world title.

Regarding Iyo’s ongoing push, a high-ranking decision-maker told Dave Meltzer of F4WOnline.com that she is seen as a breakout star this year, blending the intensity and vocal style that made Asuka a compelling promo despite not speaking English. The source also stated that Iyo has “ridiculously great workrate, and everyone loves working with her, so no one has a problem making her shine, letting her shine, and designing a match for her to shine.”

Iyo turned 35 on May 8th and was publicly wished a happy birthday by WWE women’s United States champion Zelina Vega.
