Katie & Peter

I have a feeling I met SOMEONE else famous at some point but the only one I can remember is seeing John Leslie opening a shop in Glasgow and shouting "HEY IT'S JOHN LESLIE!" from the back of a crowd to make my friend laugh (OMG I WAS SO NORMAL in 1999) doesn't really count as "meeting".

You need to open your heart to the wonders of being an Anglophile.

Anthony Head: apparently a TV actor, had some Role on Buffy. I have never seen, nor do I care to see, an entire episode of Buffy. I've seen about 5 half episodes. I'll pass.

Richard & Judy: Brit TV personalities. Never heard of them.

Trevor McDonald: famous black Brit TV news guy. Again, never heard of him.

Rachel Stevens: Brit pop star. No way I'd ever had heard of her.

Ken Livingstone: Brit politician. As with most of those mentioned already, one just isn't going to run across these people in the middle of Jesusland, Amerika (where I live), except maybe the pop star.

Maxi Jazz: a Soka Gakkai Buddhist rapper from England. Yup, pretty much zero chance I'd ever have heard of him.

But, now I have, and maybe the trivia will prove useful some day.

My brush with fame was meeting Chuck Berry and Jerry Lee Lewis at Blueberry Hill in St. Louis. Those old fucks sure like their women young!

I once shouted "HEY RORY!" to Rory McGrath in Pavilion Gardens. He nodded back to us.

It's a great show AND SHOULD BE TO EVERYONE'S TASTES BECAUSE I LIKE IT AND MY WILL I THE ONLY CORRECT ONE.

OMG!!

I saw Quiet Riot in concert and I untied the guitarist guy's shoe. I think he called me a bitch. DOES THAT COUNT AS A CELEBRITY ENCOUNTER?

You should have tied is shows together and watched him plummet to his death off a nearby cliff screaming as he fell and quiped "not so QUIET now, are you!"

I think Anthony Head's the most internationally known person I've met or seen, so if you don't know who he is, then you definitely wouldn't know all the people I didn't even mention. I live in London, so most of the people I see are British celebs.

My most bizarre moment was when I walked past Gene Wilder in Brighton. He was eating an ice cream at the time. I double-took, and walked back a few yards to see if it was really was him. Indeed it was - he was doing some sort of anecdotal stand-up show at the time.

I wish I'd said something to him, because he happens to be one of my favourite actors.

You should have started signing "pure imagination" that wouldn't have been obnoxious at all!

Gerald Durrell kissed me on the lips - we'd all had lots of wine and he was ancient by then but as funny in RL as his books, and so charming I returned it! (And his wife wasn't cross so it was all good. I always thought of him as a bon vivant anyway)
He was in Canada raising money for the Jersey Trust Fund at some dinner in Toronto. Sadly, he passed away not much longer after that - 1995, IIRC.
Lovely man.

Gene Wilder?

Fucking cool.

See, Brighton is chock with celes. They flock there.

Roger Daltry mentioned Brighton in a song once. ;)

I saw Graham Chapman on a lecture circuit about 20 years ago (stateside). Did he ever frequent Brighton?

Without a doubt he would have. Brighton is huge and very bohemian.

Still my favorite Python, even after all these years. I miss him.

Mine too, mine too. He was a fine lad.

I gave Katie & Peter a full five minutes of my attention last night... it was shit, boring, and stupid. Katie has a split personality? Her other personality's name is Jordan or something.

I feel bad for Peter's parents, and for Katie's kid.. who kinda acts like he's got some learning disabilities. PLEASE KATIE AND PETER (i know you're reading this) DO THE GENE POOL A FAVOR AND DON'T BREED.
