Be patient till the last.
USUALLY I avoid cop shows like the plaugue, but must admit this one is different:
..about a cop (played by my favouirte ginger, Damien Lewis of The Baker fame) who gets set up by a person [or persons] in the police department and is sentenced to "Life" for the murder of his friend's family.
He gets a lawyer who believes he's innocent and she not only gets him out of prison, but gets him a $50 million dollar settlement, as he spent 12 years getting every bone in his body broken whilst he was there (an honest cop in prison? nasty).
The TWIST is whilst in jail, he discovered Zen Buddism, so now he's out, he struggles to not be attached to all the loot he can now buy (there are always fantastic cars that something horrible happens to) and his secret desire for revenge, and the clues that lead him closer to figuring out who set him up.
If you are looking for something extremely well-written, darkly funny and a bit cerebral- as well as the usual gory murders and cop-show stuff, give it a try.
