Logan

I think Sony had the foresight to see they were better off just letting Marvel studios handle their flagship character, and just take a piece of the pie. Now Sony gets paid for Spider-Man being in the movies, and don't have to invest as much (if any) money. As much as I enjoyed the first 2 spidey movies, his recent Marvel studio debut was on point.

I don't know if anyone started one yet, so here it is.

I'm pretty sure it's obvious what happens in the movie. It was still enjoyable, and one of the better X movies. It kind of sucks the X-men go through the trouble of changing time for things to still end up depressing. Being that the movie was already 2 and half hours the brief mention of what happened to the Professor X/X-men was effective. If Jackman was more willing to do more Wolverine/X- men movies the ending could've been different, but still effective. This movie definitely feels like its gonna be the last of the X-men film franchise as we know it. But they definitely left the door open for it to continue in another direction. I know they mentioned one of the next movies being titled "New Mutants" , and the results of this movie would definitely be a window for that.

X-23 was awesome, and she could definitely take Wolverine. The explanation for the foot claw worked well too. But does adamantium grow with your bones? I imagine what happened to Logan is gonna happen to her at some point. Alongside the complication of attempted bone growth while it's covered in indestructible metal. So her life will still suck, whether she decides to be a killer, or not.

So the point of Logan, and the X-men is.... Being different ends in horrible tragedy? I don't know, but a good movie regardless.

I want to see it even though I haven't seen most of the newer X-Men films. This is the first one that's interested me in a long time.

I merged this thread with the other Logan thread because I have an obsessive need to merge all Logan threads into one master Logan thread. Don't judge me.

(I haven't seen it but I'll watch it eventually I'm sure.)

I watched it now it's out on blu ray. It was very good. Hugh Jackman and Patrick Stewart were great. The little girl was very good (except quoting the movie at the funeral at the end was a bit awkward but I don't blame her for that.) Wolverine sure killed a lot of guys with metal hands!

It's not really a problem, but wow this felt like it should have been the final movie in the entire X-Men franchise. I mean you had that whole thing with Wolverine reading the old comics and telling Laura that it wasn't really like that and in real life the mutants (nearly) all died out and made it like this movie was in the real world and the others are just fun fantasies...but we're going to go back to the McAvoy/Fassbender/Lawerence sillier, more comic-like movies with Dark Phoenix. I'd really rather they continued on with Laura and the new kid mutants from this movie, because it really felt like a perfect ending for the original X-Men and certainly the characters of Wolverine and Prof X, but...it's kind of just going to be ignored? I guess you just have to pretend it's a different timeline or some shit.

(I did think of Fawlty Towers too.)

((Also it was WAY better than Deadpool.))
