Feetal's gizz!

It finally went away for me, too.

Ever read DarkHawk? When he lost his amulet?

And how about the one where he fought Darginn Bokk or something?

Secret Wars: Bad mistake all around.

I kinda liked the SW II where he confronted Dr. Doom though.

I had this one:

It has an interesting novelty to it.... like Venom with the 50 different symbiotes.

Mess, I was JUST looking at this issue the other night! It's the only one I have left, though.

When Darkhawk first came out, I was a big fan; I thought it an interesting concept. I can't recall why I stopped reading it. Probably didn't have the $ at the time to continue with it.

^Same here. Plus they made the story all wierd. I hadn't read it for a couple of issues and all of a sudden, Chris and his alter-ego were two different people.

And there was all this nonsense about him dating Allegra Basin, probably brought on by those idiotic, whiny letters made by fans and published at the end of the comic.

I don't remember that, actually. I remember when Doom beat his ass (supposedly) towards the end of the first mini, though, and Doom took his powers.

And the Mike Zeck art of the first series was spectacular!

Secret Wars II.... had some interesting moments, but there's so much more they could've done with it.

Funniest thing, though, was the Beyonder standing in Peter Parker's apartment contemplating the toilet as Petey tried to explain the need for it.

It was kinda freaky, let me see if I remember it... a Byrne FF issue, where they figure out that Doom survived their previous fracas by transferring his mind into a bystander. He's working on restoring his true body when the Beyonder arrives, and upon figuring out that this is actually the dude who stole his powers in SW I, decides to fry him. Reed steps in and says no, because Doom inexplicably has no memory of the Beyonder. Turns out Doom was plucked randomly from the past in SW I because the Beyonder couldn't find him in the present, so Reed says if he kills Doom he'll fuck up all space/time. The Beyonder agrees, restores Doom to his true body and sends him to the past so he can participate in SW I the way he was supposed to. As the FF leave, we see Doom reappearing in a shimmer....

If you can follow that, write me.

OH! I bet that was one of the FF crossovers with SWII, right? There WAS some neat crossovers that came out of that. It was the 9 issue mini, itself, that kinda bugged me.

And, yeah... that's kinda convoluted, but still, sounds fun! What the hell did we care!? That was 20 years ago!

Edited to add: I made my first long WALK to buy a comic when I was 10 years old. Walked for almost an hour to the nearest convenience store and bought a copy of Secret Wars II #5 (the first appearance of Boom-Boom (that blonde mutant bitch)). I gave the clerk $1 and still had enough left over to play a video game!

Then, walking home in the heat, I drank water from the ditch, literally lapping it up from the cement ground. What can I say? I was a kid, I was thirsty.

Oh, the things we remember.

^Ooo! Cool! Never seen that dude before...

Spider-Man once gave the beatdown to Firelord, another of Galactapus' heralds!
