lost 4.2 spoilers

But even the picture is different, closer, brighter, possibly even taken from a slightly different angle, and the picture to the left of it looks different too.

Could just be a really bad continuity error...or it could mean something.

ALSO...

It's interesting that they've started showing the cabin section of the plane again, it hasn't been seen since the first episode. Could be preparing us for when it is transported to the bottom of the ocean!

New girl's name was Charlotte Staples Lewis...as in Clive Staples Lews...is the island Narnia? Time moves at a different speed in Narnia from the real world.

Only minor annoyance so far (other than recovering cancer patient Ben somehow not dying from all the beatings) is that the "Not Penny's boat" thing was a really big deal last season with Charlie dying to reveal it but Desmond didn't say much about it last week and wasn't in this episode at all...hopefully someone will ask them why they lied about being sent by Penny (but maybe the boat people were tricked by mysterious black guy and thought they WERE sent by Penny?)

OH yeah.. I meant to ask what everyone thinks about the mysterious black guy. My theory is that he is either the head of DHARMA or works for DHARMA.. this would make him going after Ben sensible since Ben killed off all the DHARMA people after he ran away to the hostiles.

ALSO.. I read in the paper today that the writer's strike could be over this week, and some shows could be getting new episodes THIS season. Don't know if Lost will be able to do that, but maybe!

I think he works for Dharma...which has been bought out by CHARLES WIDMORE (Alan Dale)!

He is intreiging, in the first episode when he asked Hurley, "are they still alive?" I thought he was talking about the other losties that werent part of the oceanic 6, but now he could be talking about the boaties, in which case maybe the losties took over the boat and stranded the boaties/killed them/they wanted to stay on the island.

zomg well spotted! I missed that...hmmmm...interesting notion...

What was Miles' surname? Any references there? And the pilot...I can't even remember his first name.

Straume is Miles' last name. The pilot's name is Frank Lapidus.

I googled "Lapidus" and came across this website: http://www.lapidus.org.uk/ I don't think it's significant at all, but it's the only interesting thing I found. This is at the top of their website "OUR MISSION IS TO PROMOTE HEALING AND PERSONAL GROWTH THROUGH WRITING AND READING"

Apparently Straume is a city in Norway. Also someone named Eldar Jen Straume wrote a dissertation called: Geometry of Dihedral Transformation Groups, for the Mathematics Genealogy Project. http://genealogy.math.ndsu.nodak.edu/id.php?id=31914

OH.. just read on Lostpedia Miles Straume could be a FUNNY way of saying maelstrom. Also Miles is the main character in "Turn of the Screw" by Henry James. It's a ghost story.

I saw that on Lostpedia. All their names are homages to other people. Though I try not to feed into it too much since it is still entirely too vague. Though the nod to Faraday was the best and most interesting.

The first two of the season have been very good and as usual gripping as hell but Lost is still up to its old tricks. Tons of new questions and no fucking meaningful answers.

I was a little surprised that ghosts are seemingly canon now. For a show that has touted the fact that while things look supernatural they have a place in science making ghosts real is a huge step into realms of fantasy.

Yeah, I don't like the ghost bit at all. I'm hoping it only seems like there are ghosts and they come up with a scientific reason.

But is it anymore far fetched than a sentiet cloud of black smoke that can take the form of dead people and judges you? Or TALL WALT?

Jack first saw his dead dad walking about way back at the start of the first season...of course you could say that was just the smoke monster or whatever rather than a ghost.

Then there was Eko finding that child who died and came back and had a message from Yemi for him in one of his flashbacks.

My theory kind of was that when someone dies on the island their brainwaves or whatever are imprinted onto the island somehow due to the island's unique properties...that would explain (kind of) the whispering voices and the ghosts...but doesnt' explain Miles being able to talk to ghosts OFF the island...that is, if Miles really CAN talk to ghosts.

SO I DON'T KNOW.

YES, it was Miles talking to ghosts off the island that bugged me. Anything that happens on the island can be explained, but off the island is more difficult.

But we didn't actually SEE his ghost...though there was a banging that showed him where the drugs and money were hidden.

It's all a dream and Hurley will wake up in bed with Kate and Sun, who are top dollar call girls.

..and he was conversing easily with it [the dead boy's ghost or whatever]as if it were a kid right in the room with him the same way he was talking with Naomi to confirm that Kate and Jack had not murdered her.

MAYBE MILES IS JACOB.

STAY TUNED!
