New snow is pretty.
Having a fireplace when there is new snow on the ground is really nice.
Like living in a painting of someplace quaint and cozy at the end of a path winding through a forest colored with all the shades of autumn and on the other side of a foot bridge spanning a little river just barely more than a creek, but just enough so that water still flows underneath its frozen surface.
New snow is pretty.

Especially if it has no footprints in it, just to let you know that no one has passed your way. Then you get to wonder. Is it hard pack or soft, kind of like ice cream, but with no flavor. Can you make snow balls or ski aloft? Or is this just frozen eye cream? Lovely as a Christmas Card, but powdery. nothing to make snow folk from. So you throw another log on the fire and wait until first light to try on your new boots.
