Srsly, I've been watching the reruns on Sunday mornings for months now in anticipation. There are so many shows on Sunday night now, I'll be watching them for the next 3 days.
OMG SQUEE HOW WILL DON SCREW UP THE IMPROMPTU ENGAGEMENT? AND WILL BETTY BE JSUT AS BIG A BITCH IN RYE? AND WILL CARLA COME BACK AND SMOTHER BETTY IN HER SLEEP I HOPE? AND WILL JOAN'S PREGNANCY BOOBS CAUSE THEIR HIGH RISE BUILDING TO SWAY?
Betty's maid, who basically raised the Draper kids from birth but was unceremoniously fired before Betty & Henry & the kids moved to Rye. Carla allowed the weird fat boy in the house to say goodbye to Sally, which made Betty even more insane than usual.
That's not what happened with Mad Men -- AMC were the ones demanding big budget CUTS for season 5, which would have meant drastically reducing the cast and adding an insane amount of product placement, which would have kind of ruined the storytelling. Most people think creator Matt Weiner is a douchebag, but in this case he probably saved the show from sucking by waiting it out and standing his ground.
But wouldnt you say if AMC had a set amount of money for the three shows it produces, by refusing a budget cut (good for him, good for his show) it affected the budgets for the other two?
Its supposed to be the reason Frank Darabount left TWD.
Hey MAD MEN was on last night too remember Mad Men?
I like how Don is slowly but surely learning just how out of touch he is with modern youth culture. Back in season one he was in a different social class as the hippies that girl he was sleeping with hung out with, but now he's looking at the next generation and not really liking what they are! Interesting how the girl he was talking to at the Rolling Stones concert would only be a few years older than Sally (if we're assuming Sally is like 12ish and the girl was mid-to-late teens).
I think the Pete/Roger feud is getting a little ridiculous. I think something really bad is going to happen to Pete fairly soon to knock him down a peg. Is this whole season going to be about Don and Roger sitting around wondering what happened to this nutty world while everyone else sails by them?
I love how Matt Weiner figured out how to take a swipe at Mitt Romney all the way from 1966. Mitt's father was governor of Michigan at the time, and they had Henry call Romney a "clown" while talking to someone on the phone!
