Mad Men season 5

Just a little devastating. Yep. Wow.

We saw it coming, but it was so tragic anyway. They even gave him a final comic humiliation, when his Jaguar failed him in his final act. Was this a symbol for what Jaguar will do for SCDP, or merely a final symbol of Lane's inability to claim what's his while others get theirs? (Oh yeah, it won't be SCDP anymore -- Lane was the "P" -- there's a storyline right there, having the others fight for being a name partner)

I'm skeptical about Don's newfound hunger and anger -- Pete had the same fire last week when got the partners onboard the plan for Joan to help land Jaguar. Pete got it done -- will Don still be able to come through if Dow expresses interest? I hope so, because it will be a thorn in Pete's side since he would be left off the account.

Interesting that Megan is currently the only one who knows that Don fired Lane before he killed himself. Will the partners never find out thanks to Lane's generic goodbye letter, or will Megan let it slip to the wrong person down the road?

Sad, sad episode, with random bits of chaos tossed in (Sally eww lol). RIP Lane.

I think the two dogs fucking was a metaphor for two dogs fucking.

This season will be remembered as the season of people punching Pete.

After reading other recaps and reviews, I get the humor in that Peggy/dogs scene. She was in a hotel in Virginia on her great new adventure, like she dreamed about, except that it's a fleabag, and instead of the Eiffel Tower, she opens her window and sees two dogs humping. But she's still on her way. (She's going to create the Virginia Slims brand after all).

And Roger was naked and on a chair because he apparently decided if no one else was going to trip again with him, he'd do it alone.

Of course, most people have to watch the ep at least twice to catch every little thing.

Like when the 5 partners were checking out the new office space. Pete proudly says, "I'll have the same view as you, Don." And in a way, he will: he is throwing his family away while in the middle of an existential crisis, just like Don did (and may be doing again). I wonder if he now thinks that's going to help him bond with Don, and they'll be drinking/whoring buddies from now on. Fat chance.

Interesting - we are moving into some new offices very soon - here is an image of the Mad Men and also ours below. We don't have a nice blue filter, or a New York Skyline, or Christina Hendricks (or a lot of other things actually)

However, I am not in the middle of an existential crisis and I don't have sex with whores.

I always seem to be awake every Sunday morning for the marathon of reruns.

I miss seeing Sarah Sisko working as the Draper's maid.

ALISON BRIE AND CONNOR CAN CHARLESTON!

Oh, and this:

Not to mention Joan playing the accordion and singing in French (2 years before Jessica Pare), and Peggy getting stoned. Ahhhhhh...

ZOMG?

Vincent Kartheiser and Alexis Bledel stepped out Wednesday at a photo exhibition for The Macallan Masters of Photography at Bowery Hotel in Manhattan.

A pair of Hollywood’s most photogenic young stars made their red carpet debut as a couple Wednesday night at - where else? - the launch of a major photography exhibition.

“Mad Men” star Vincent Kartheiser, 33, and his on-screen mistress from the hit AMC series, Alexis Bledel, made a picture-perfect pair at the The Macallan Masters of Photography collection opening at Manhattan’s Bowery Hotel.

Critics noticed the undeniable chemistry between Kartheiser and the 30-year-old Bledel during their sex scenes on the show.

Bledel played a lonely housewife who is seduced by Kartheiser’s morally challenged Pete Campbell. The two get it on in his office when she opens her fur coat to reveal she has nothing on underneath.

“He's light and funny and has lots of energy on set,” Bledel said in a Q&A session for the network earlier this year about filming that now-famous sex scene. “He keeps everybody energized as well.”

Apparently very well energized.

The chemistry between Vincent Kartheiser, 33, and his on-screen mistress from “Mad Men,” Alexis Bledel, won the attention of critics and fueled speculation they were a real-life item. The two have also been seen canoodling at John F. Kennedy International Airport.

Their off-screen romance may have been the worst-kept secret in Hollywood: The pair were spotted canoodling at New York’s John F. Kennedy International Airport in June, a witness blabbed to Crushable.

“They came over to the gate right as I was boarding, and I saw him first,” the witness told the website. “His hair is fuller, and he’s got a beard. But I recognized him right away.”

“Then he walked over, and a girl with him sat down. And it was Rory f---ing Gilmore,” he added in a reference to Bledel’s turn on the series “Gilmore Girls.”

“He was leaning over the back of his seat talking to her and leaned over and kissed her.”

Alexis Bledel played a housewife named Beth Dawes who romanced Vincent Kartheiser's character, Pete Campbell, on this season's 'Mad Men.

FUNNY because I never saw much chemistry between them on the show (but I guess that was because she was brain damaged or whatever.)
