Mad Men season 5

I laughed when Megan suddenly remembered Cynthia's name!

Pete got what he deserved for cheating on Trudy. Everyone likes Trudy.

I'd read Ken's robot story.

GREAT FREAKING EPISODE!! I didn't want it to end, I was transfixed.

To everyone who is complaining that this season isn't as good, SHUT UP YOU'RE ALL MORONS and this episode proved that the writers knew what they were doing all along. SO SHUT UP AND APPRECIATE IT BITCHES.

Roger on LSD. I was on the floor laughing, until it got deep.

Also, YAY, DON'S STILL THE SAME FUCK-UP WE ALWAYS KNEW AND LOVED! He's just switched ways of expressing it. Phew!

(I posted the same thing someplace else, and I don't care) :P

I honestly think this season has been really good so far and this episode wqas the best yet.

Seriously everything about that episode was good.

Also whoever encoded the video to download managed to put about five minutes of some show on Lifetime right in the middle of the episode and for a while I thought that it was Mad Men being really post modern.

I'm 50 minutes into the hour, and everything has been lighthearted and fairytale.

Something's wrong here. I'm expecting a bomb to go off in a ballroom in the last 5 minutes, killing half the cast.

We'll see...

And Roger picked up Megan's slutty old mom, so there's another shoe dropping -- not to mention Sally walking in on her blowing him. Also, Sally is still in touch with Weird Neighbor Boy, who was shipped off to boarding school.

And Megan's papa lets us know that he can see Megan isn't really happy in advertising, and that he isn't happy with her "skipping her dreams and going straight to the finish line". BUT HE'S A MARXIST LIBERAL ELITE THING.

And a business bigwig telling Don that the Great Anti-Smoking ad he wrote actually caused most corporate titans to decide never to trust him again.

They flipped more pancakes in the last 5 minutes than Mel did in a whole season of Alice.

Two great lines -- Megan's dad upon seeing Sally all tarted up for the awards dinner: "No matter what you do Don, eventually your girl will spread her legs and fly away."

And Sally on the phone to Weird Boy at the end: Boy: "So how's the City?" Sally: "Dirty."

The dinner & party conversation was excellent throughout. Sally & Roger were a magical pair, I was grinning from ear to ear watching them -- it's too bad they tore it apart after only one pairing.

The ep was called "At the Codfish Ball" which is the title of an old Shirley Temple song:

Next Friday night your all invited
To dance from 8 to 5
All the fishes still alive
Are having a ball

Its some affair they'll all be there
From the Herring to the Whale
They'll turn out to shake a scale
In Neptune's Hall

Come along and follow me
To the bottom of the sea
We'll join in the Jamboree
At the Codfish ball

Lobsters dancing in a row
Shuffle off to Buffalo
Jelly fish sway to and fro
At the Codfish ball

Finn-an-haddie leads the eel
Thought an Irish reel
The Catfish is a dancing man
But he can't can-can like a sardine can

Tunas trucking left and right
Minnies mooching what a night
There won't be a hook in site
At the Codfish ball

Clever!

I don't know what the Canadian equivalent of baseball is, but this is a home run!

That was an absolutely fantastic moment!

Did anyone have non fucked-up parents in the sixties?

I still don't like creepy boy. His acting isn't up to the standard of the show.

Let's all watch this now!
