Microsoft ad with Seinfeld is out.

I always thought Dr. Dave looked exactly like Dr. Nick.

Microsoft to announce Jerry Seinfeld ads cancelled tomorrow

Remember those awful Microsoft ads with Jerry Seinfeld and Bill Gates? Well, now you can forget them. Microsoft flacks are desperately dialing reporters to spin them about "phase two" of the ad campaign — a phase, due to be announced tomorrow, which will drop the aging comic altogether. Microsoft's version of the story: Redmond had always planned to drop Seinfeld. The awkward reality: The ads only reminded us how out of touch with consumers Microsoft is — and that Bill Gates's company has millions of dollars to waste on hiring a has-been funnyman to keep him company.

Update: In a phone call, Waggener Edstrom flack Frank Shaw confirms that Microsoft is not going on with Seinfeld, and echoes his underlings' spin that the move was planned. There is the "potential to do other things" with Seinfeld, which Shaw says is still "possible." He adds: "People would have been happier if everyone loved the ads, but this was not unexpected."

Why does the article start with "Remember those..." as if they're about eight years old or something?
 
Probably being sarcastic or ironic or something. Years of internet use have worn down my understand of how those terms differ. Pffleh.

Maybe he really IS being phased out as part of a plan but fucking internet geeks will just say the ads were flops because they hate Gates and Lucas and Davina McCall irrationally except it IS rational to hate Davina McCall?

Victor: It's because you ALWAYS deliver, innit!

Gates: Ah, I see.

Victor: You down with that?

Gates: Yeah, I'm, uhh, down!

Victor: Cool. I respect you and your money.

Gates: And I respect black people!

(The both smile at the camera.)

When the London Olympics logo was revealed and everybody hated it, the company claimed that it would change and evolve in the years before the games. Now everyone's forgotten about it they're not doing anything.

Microsoft will probably do something completely different in a few months time and pretend they never said anything about another phase or working with Seinfeld again.
 
I rembember Richard Madely saying it looked like "Lisa Simpson giving a blowjob" but not in those words.
 
That's what everybody says and it's all I see everytime I look at it. I really hope they will change it before the games, but they're not gonna.
 
they should at least change it to Marge giving a blowjob, so it's not child porn.
