Hulk Hogan (Terry Bollea), has died. He was 71.

Not a big fan of the man behind the act, but the act was iconic.

This thread is certainly seeing some heavy hitters of late.

Reunited with Macho Man Randy Savage.

Not sure how they felt about each other in the end,but they defintely hated each other for many years. Savage blamed Hogan and Linda for the breakdown of his marriage to Elizabeth and punched Hulk in the face the night before WrestleMania 9, giving him a black eye that had to be explained away by commentary on the event.

SummerSlam 1992 was the first wrestling event I watched, at my friend's house two doors down from mine. No Hulk on that show, but my dad brought home a Hogan compilation tape not long after and I started getting really into wrestling after that. Rented all the Hulkamania stuff from the video shop. Perferred Macho to Hulk, but do of course have to give him credit for being a large part of why I got into wrestling (and for the success of the WWF.)

Refused to talk to his daughter for two years before his death, even after she nearly died in childbirth: https://www.tmz.com/2025/07/24/brooke-hogan-responds-to-father-hulk-hogan-death/
I was never a wrestling fan, so my take on Hulk is different. He was an okay presence in mainstream media in the 80s outside of wrestling, showing up on talk shows and game shows and Saturday Night Live, etc.

Then the whole sex tape thing came out, and he decided to align with evil gay billionaire troll Peter Thiel to destroy Gawker for posting the video.

For that, he can basically rot.

Hogan never got over with me back in the 80s. The NWO thing in WCW was okay, mainly because Hall and Nash were a riot to listen to and watch.

Hogan can kiss my ass because he treated other wrestlers like shit, ended some promising careers because of his desire to stay at the top well past his time, and his stooging to McMahon about Ventura's attempt to unionize pro wrestling.

No hate, but fuck him.

He was probably the first jazz record I ever bought (he was making the Billboard Pop charts at the time but the music still counted as jazz). RIP.

I hope we can get the rest of the week out of the way without loosing anyone else.

Unless it's Trump of course, will save us a fortune on security.
