Mine Field Celebrity Deathday Thread

Well he always told HIS truth, anyway. RIP. Too bad he had to polarize his own legacy toward the end.

Marvel artist Sal Buscema, kid brother of legendary John Buscema, passed a couple of days before his 90th birthday.

I mainly remember him being the artist for ROM, which was one of my favorite Marvel titles.

Catherine O’Hara, 71

Well this is really sad news to refresh my feed to today. 71 is still way too young to be dying for me. Awful.

Great in Beetlejuice and Home Alone...I'm sure she was great in Schitt's Creek too but I gave up on it quickly. 71 is always too young.

This one hurts like family... I go back with her all the way to SCTV in the 70s...

I've been watching clip after clip, and this is the one that finally made me break down...

I think I found her kind of hot here, in a confused childhood way.

You dummy!

I saw that story and felt displeased.

I keep forgetting Dick Cavett was in this -- another reason (for me) to watch it again.

A couple of genius improvisers at work...

Scott Adams, dead from cancer.

He always told the truth, which is a revolutionary act.

Accidentally caught this post and just had to say that he had a great blog that I really enjoyed reading, circa 2016. Then at some point he decided to stop writing posts and start video recording them and it killed it for me. I have no interest in sitting at my laptop, watching some ugly old guy talk. I wouldn't be particularly interested in watching a hot nekkid girl talk either, but it would be better than watching some dude blather on about his ideas.

On a slightly more current topic, the news of And Son dying, reminded me of Redd Foxx's death. He was on the set of some show he was doing and had a heart attack. But everyone thought he was doing his Fred Sanford, pretending to have a heart attack schtick and didn't realize right away that he was actually having a heart attack. Funny, in a dark sort of way.

IKR? The last thing he saw was the others standing around him laughing as he checked out.

I sometimes think about that.
