30 years ago today, this song began a 3-week reign at #1 on the Billboard chart. It made history because it was the first song ever to hit #1 by an artist who wasn't signed to a label. (The song was released because it appeared in the movie Reality Bites.)



30 years later, Lisa Loeb looks exactly the same.

 
45 years ago today this came out, initially written on a bass guitar not a synth (they came later).

 
Is it weird I was feeling down and this picked me up?

I knew this line-for-line as a little kid; used to recite it back (the WHOLE movie) to my little brother when we had been put to bed in the bunk.
