Wacky, of all the people here, you could influence me the most to come back and stay. But, I know you're not trying to influence me.

But, here is what's going on with me right now, and why I think I'm here to stay for a while. First, I miss message boards. Having real conversations, or fight's, or whatever. Not just a click as people pass on by. Secondly, Facebook pissed me off. I got this demand to take down one of my pages due to copyright violations. Except, it contains all my own writings. I have the copyright on it. I refuse to bow down to f/b on this. So, I found myself longing to have some real free speech, and take a real break from 'social media'. What came to mind was TK. Why? Because it's free speech, I know people. People I missed, and social media hasn't ruined this place.

But mostly I missed some of you so much, and wondered why I've been absent for so long. So, I'm not just dropping by to say hello. I came to spend more time with old friends [and frenemies]. Wacky you are one of them. Don't know about my mystic powers, but I'm not just passing through. It's been 20+ years and we are family. ;)

The Anti-Facebook resistance grows! Every time I visit it's just clickbait shit designed to fool old people, and when I look at the replies it's mostly all old people being fooled (with the odd "haha, stupid old people!" comment.)

I still go to Facebook out of habit but the algorithm that populates the feed is so terrible that I don't actually wind up reading any of the posts of the 3 or 4 "friends" it's decided to feed me ad nauseum. I just count amount of unsolicited garbage inserted and delete twice as much of my content (if Facebook makes money from my content I shall take it away). At this point I'm back to mid 2020 on my posts and late 2019 on "likes." I've already deleted basically everything from my profile except a profile and background photo, my name and my birthdate. I don't honestly expect that Mark Zuckerberg will look in and go "I've been such a fool. Thanks for helping me to see the light. I'll be rolling the software back to what we were using in 2012." But the vindictiveness of it gives me a measure of pleasure.

Agreed. I keep my page, but it's mainly for family and friends. I quit Twitter when Musk too over. Haven't missed it for even one minute. Anyway, that's why I began to miss message boards. I mean we had it all on message boards. Long, involved conversations, RP, politics, spam [lol], drive-byes, arguments and friendships. I wish F/b hadn't taken over so completely because we lost a lot more than we think. I suppose I got old and longed for the good-ol-days on TK. It was such a ride. ;)

I was friends with her on her fb and she's still on my friends list. Under her real name, not "missmanners"

The account was deactivated a while back. Have no idea what that means.

occasionally the account posts here. Have no idea if it's her or not.

Interesting! I experienced something similar. Stopped posting on this and another forum for IDK, 4-5 years with maybe an occasional fly by and have similar issues with social media. The quick “likes” (or not) and the censorship (whether tech or self induced because of having minor fucking posts FLAGGED, REPORTED AND/OR OUTRIGHT REMOVED because they might be “inappropriate”) brought me back to a couple of forums too.
I didn’t “know” a lot of people here (but a few). Found out some sad news about at least one person I was looking forward to seeing on another forum—gawt damn Maggot is in a nursing home or something; fucking stroke or worse—hope to read u get better news about MM.
