Movies on DVD (suggestions)

The first held together better as a story. Susan looked hotter in the second.

I watched Smokin' Aces last night. That was surprisingly fun to see. I thought I'd end up falling asleep before it was over, but I liked it. Lots of crazy gunfights and hicks with chainsaws.

yep, gotta say, Burn After Reading's adverts were much misleading! mega wattage disappointment.
Smoking Aces was more fun, and that's just sad.

The first Hellboy was better, IMO.

Oh, we're doing films more'n a year old too? In the category of overlooked films from a couple years back that I quite enjoyed, there was "Sky Captain and the World of Tomorrow" and a live action version of "Peter Pan" that was very good.

If you like "The Maltese Falcon" and "Casino Royale" and you haven't seen it yet, I highly recommend the original "Shaft". The remake was crap but the original film was teh awesome.

I was fortunate to actually meet director Gordon Parks once. Cool old dude (RIP).

I totally forgot that I bought Sky Captain and the World of Tomorrow about a month ago. I'll have to watch that one soon.

Do yourself a favor and watch Sleuth.

This classic might be hard to come by, so If you do not find it in the DVD store you frequent, do not hesitate to buy it online.

No Country for Old Men
The Bourne Ultimatum
Sherry Baby
Old Boy
Clerks 2
Dead Man's Shoes
City of God
Black Dahlia
A History of Violence
30 Days of Night
28 Days Later

If you've never seen a couple of my faves, I will always suggest them

High Fidelity
Office Space

Garden State.

Garden State seemed good the first time I watched it, but meh. The whole idea that you could meet a quirky girl who looks exactly like Natalie Portman in the doctor's waiting room really put me off.

With my unique, German-speaking, background I'd recommend "Downfall". You've probably seen shitty youtube parodies with Hitler seemingly talking about Chelsea and Manchester United or some such bullshit but the movie is actually really good too. And I say that as someone who usually thinks any German movie sucks.

Apart from that:
Wanted - decent but not as awesome as the trailer made it seem
21 - was actually kinda entertaining
Role Models - no idea whether it's on DVD already but probably very soon
Bourne Ultimatum - I'll second this one and the entire Bourne series if you haven't seen it yet (#2 was the best one IMO)
The Bucket List - sweet movie
Charlie Wilson's War - nothing spectacular but entertaining enough
The Departed - very, very, very awesome
V for Vendetta - again, insanely good
Miami Vice - now, I'm guessing most people will disagree but I liked it, especially the scene on the speedboat
Blood Diamond - brilliant
Children of Men - very good

Those are the ones that caught my eye after checking the top 100 for the last three years on BoxOfficeMojo. I'm guessing you've seen some of them but there you go.

CASSIE DO YOU NEED MORE?

Did you ever watch Hot Fuzz, Cassie?

I did watch Hot Fuzz, I EVEN BOUGHT IT.

I'd like to see some good movies, but I hardly ever find the time between internet and mindless TV shows, lol.
