My god, 4 hours?

headvoid

Can I have Ops?
I know it was a long book, but a 4 hour film for Return of The King?

*settles in for night*

Get ready for about six bladder teasing endings.

Yeah its long, espesually if you watch the extended version on DVD (i assume there is one).

That's the one I'm watching

It's the weakest of the movies, though the battle scenes are the best.

I loved all of them. Sometimes I have a marathon and watch them all in one day then i dream about hobbits and Gandalf's staff.

I was going to watch all the Star Wars movies in one day once but I decided to suck Jade Goody's tit instead.

They keep on saying Mordor like they do in Taggart.

Mr Frodo, there's been a Mordor!

We must get to MUUUURRRDDDUUURRR!!

The ghosts coming along to fight was lame.

Did anyone else play LotR: The Third Age? OR AM i THE ONLY ONE NERDY ENOUGH TO LIKE THAT GAME?

No.

Shall we poke Cassie with a stick and make fun of her?

It was fun, but not many seem to like ti because you don't get to be any of the main characters.. in fact you are a made up character and so is all your companions. Now and then you get to have a battle where you can have one of the main characters on your team. At the end Aragorn is on your team and you call those ghosts to come kill the bad guys. ALSO YOU GET TO FIGHT THE GIANT ELEPHANT THINGS (I CAN'T REMEMBER WHAT THEY'RE CALLED)

Oily Pants?

Mumma, KILL!

ARE YOU MAKING FUN OF ME? lol I don't care, I am a NERD.

Nerd? and who is the one at 2am watching the film? That'll be the nerd sitting in the UK then.

Nerd didn't manage the last half hour but overall was impressed at how close to the book he went. I kept on expecting them to condense sections such as Frodo and Sam getting caught up briefly in the Orc march whilst in Mordor. Unusually for myself, who does love the books, there were moments I thought they dwelt too long. Perhaps this is because I am watching the extended version.

The battle scenes were incredible. The Oliphant charge in particular was amazing. I presume people have drawn comparisons between that and the Empire Strikes Back AT-AT walkers battle?

Here's a link to a really cool website that compares Star Wars to other great epic sci fi and fantasy. I'm linking to the LotR page.. I found it originally because of the Dune page. ANYWAY it's an interesting read.

Yeah, they have, but Star Wars didn't have GIANT ELEPHANTS STANDING ON HORSES
