Team USA beats Turkey 93-92 in OT, Tatum injured
Jayson Tatum had 11 points and 11 rebounds. Kemba Walker scored five of his 14 points in overtime.

Johnson played for the Nets from 2012 to 2016, earning one of his seven career All-Star appearances. He recently was named MVP of the BIG3 and led his team, the Triplets to the league championship.

Ricky Rubio, Marc Gasol lead Spain to 2nd World Cup title
Raptors Gasol becomes the 2nd player to win an NBA title and a FIBA world gold medal in the same year. Lamar Odom did did did it for the Lakers and USA basketball in 2010. Rubio scored 20 points.
 
Vince Carter, 42, to play swan song season with Hawks
Carter, the NBA's oldest player will return for a record 22nd season. Last season he averaged 17.5 minutes, 7.4 points and 2.6 rebounds in 76 games for the rebuilding Atlanta Hawks.

U.S. stays No.1 in FIBA rankings after losses
It's been nine years and counting in the top spot for the U.S., which has held the No.1 ranking since winning the 2010 world championship.

Workd Cup champion Spain stayed at No.2. Australia leaped eight spots to No.3. Argentina, No.4. France, No.5.

Siakam averaged 19.8 points, 7.5 rebounds, 3.7 assists and 0.7 blocks per game in the NBA Finals -- including 23.8 points on 59% shooting in the Raptors' four victories over the Warriors.


With Jazz contending, Quin Snyder earns another extension from Jazz
Coach Snyder is 227-183 (.554) in six years with the Jazz, including 149-97 (.606) in the past three seasons, sixth best in the NBA. In the past three years, the Jazz have had consecutive top-five rated defenses, including No. 1 (2016-17) and No. 2 rankings (2018-19).
