Need help backing up an iPhone

Ok, so the hard drive in my computer took the ol' dumparoo a month or so ago, and I lost all my music files. I didn't think it was a huge deal, 'cause they're already on my iPhone.

However, I finally got around to syncing my iPhone today, and it tells me that if I sync the music, I'll ONLY get the playlists that are in iTunes, NOT what's on my phone. There's a shitload more music on the phone than there is on the computer. So, is there a way to import FROM an iPhone TO iTunes?? I can't find anything, and to be honest iTunes has never been that user-friendly to me. I don't even wanna update the software at this point, for fear I'll lose everything.

Thanks, I was afraid I'd have to use another piece of software like sharepod, but I guess there's no way around it.

Wowsers, someone asked for some technical help in the MF and actually got some kind of intelligible response.

Normally it is "fill it with carrots and then eat it" or something.

Henoch, thanks for the tip. I got it to work, I just had to keep installing the software 'cause the free version has a 100-song limit. But I got all 400 or so songs on there.
