New Doctor Who

Yes you will.

I thought tonights was disapointing after teh first two.

The only thing of note was the cryptic "your song will soon end" warning to teh Doctor, with a hint of the Rose music

It was nice that even though we're technically in season 30, they can still make references waaaaay back to season 1.

What was the reference?

It was an okay episode, but a bit predictable and by the numbers. The Ood are slaves and they're free by the end of the episode...and the Doctor didn't really do much to help them, did he? So why immortalise him in song? It was alright.

I kind of lost track of all the brain stuff...the Ood have part of their brain chopped off to make them slaves...so what was the big brain? All the little brain bits stuck together?

I'm sure Tennant's doing the three special next year, so his song can't be ending all that soon...

I think the big brain births the Ood, like a queen.

I think they were saying that The Ood were originally a sort of hive-mind, and that alongside thier normal brains and their handy-dandy external brains they all telepathically communed via The Big Brain®.

That's a lot of brains.

I really didn't like it.

It was overly preachy and it crassly alluded to Nazi death camps and the trade slave without earning the right to. The bit with the black guard whipping the slaves was just cheap and was only shocking in its stupidity in my opinion. And the brain was obvious right from the moment that the guy first went and looked at it. I was willing it not to turn out to be that, but of course it had to be. Over all, not a highlight.

I don't really remember it now.

Good to see Little Dave Hedgehog as the Sontaran leader tonight.

The evil geek kid should have been played be Jonathon from Buffy.

The killer cars things was a bit too much like the killer mobile phones (or whatever it was) from the Cyberman episodes.

The bit with Donna going home and having flashbacks to her time with the Doctor was unnecessary. It's only been four episodes!

Good enough set-up anyway.

OH I watched the fat babies one last night. I thought it was pretty good, I think I like the new companion chick.. ALSO WHAT'S THE DEAL WITH ROSE? She vanished!

Like an old oak table.

Next week will be the volcano one. ALSO I keep missing Sarah Jane Adventures because it's on so damn early.. they should show it again later in the night or something, BUT NO.

It's for the kiddies!

The volcano one is a vast improvement over the fat babies one, but I'm not sure whether it's the best one so far, or maybe today's.

The Doctor buggering off to look at the smoke instead of helping the grandad in the car was a bit careless of him.. and I didn't get why he kept trying to use his sonic screwdriver to open the locks. If I know anything about sonic waves, it's that they can smash glass windows.

Great to see Martha again OF COURSE. God she's cute.

A rock could have smashed the window too.

Yeah I rather quite liked it.

The Sontarans were almost just like they used to be (although they've gone from being over seven foot tall to comically short for no reason) and UNIT is cool and I want to run away with Martha Jones and start a life away from all the monsters.

She looked nice, of course, but her acting was pretty poor, especially in the opening scenes. I don't remember her being that bad last year.

Yeah she might as well just have looked right into the camera when she said "DOCTOR: I'M BRING YOU BACK!!!" or whatever it was, as it was pretty much only written for the trailer.

Apparently the whole clone subplot was only added at the last minute because Martha didn't have a lot to do, but at least it gave us naked goo-Martha.

You just know the clone is going to try to kill the Doctor WITH SEX.
