New Iron Man 2 trailer

I've watched the trailer like 20 times now, and I am equally as stoked each time. This movie will ROCK.
 
Check the IMDB page for the movie, Olivia Munn's also in it, she plays "Iron Maiden" LOL.
 
I, too, am pleased about the "briefcase model". The comic used to have Stark carrying around the full suit in that thing all the time, and I had assumed the notion got cut with the "too ridiculous even for a comic-book-film" axe. Glad to see they kept sense of fun alive with a slightly more believable angle.

IIRC, didn't Messy hate the first one too --his major gripe being that it lacked a worthy villain? (or that the villain was just a bigger, meaner version of the hero --the same criticism he leveled at Ed Norton's Hulk?)
 
Isn't it fairly typical of comic books to have the villain be a dark mirror of the hero?
 
Most comic-book heroes have more than one villain, and one of them is invariably a "darker version". But I get Messy's original point (I think) in that falling back on those particular characters for a big-screen debut is kind of weak and unimaginative. Of course there are exceptions: Venom wasn't trotted out 'til the third Spider-Man flick; The first Hulk movie (a total disaster; worse than Norton's, which admittedly wasn't great either) had him fighting the Army, followed by Nick Nolte/Absorbing Man. Magneto doesn't really have a lot in common with Professor X except maybe age and a British accent. Batman & the Joker couldn't be more un-alike. And Superman's all about Lex Luthor's jealousy of NOT having super-powers.

I don't think there's been enough superhero movies made yet to make a blanket judgement.

If Speed Racer has a brother named Racer X, then does it not follow that Malcolm X has a brother named Speed Malcolm?
