I actually saw "the island" mentioned a few times in some old Wizard's so I guess that part is true. I highly doubt he had any dealing with Lex's henchwoman, Mercy (Tess Mercer in the show) tho.

I know he WAS rich, lost his money, got all liberal, then got all hardcore, if that helps.
