Not a story as much as a paragraph from one

Inspired by recent events.

Bob is visiting John in LA, looking to recruit him for his crew, as they walk the streets near Johns home, a car starts shooting at them.

Bob and John dived down behind a car, its windows shattering above them, its tires bursting, metal pinging as the bullets tore through one side of the car, but were stopped by the other side.
"Damnit John, if I wanted to get shot at by americans I would have gone to Iraq!" Bob yelled angrily over the sound of the gunfire."
