O Great Wise Men of the Mine Field

Dual

RIP Karl 1991-2014
Tell me, what is your secret remedy for heart burn?

d

A hug from Natalie Portman.

Barring that I would suggest taking deep breaths of fresh air to relax your throat (will stop acid reflux) and to avoid lying down (makes it easier for the acid in your stomach to fuck you up)

Then sip water slowly and try and relax. It will eventually pass. Antacids are obviously a good thing to take though. Buy some for the medicine cabinet.

Still, going to go with my first suggestion for instant relief.

Mine was caused by anxiety. I started taking anti-anxiety meds and my heart burn went away. Before that, I'd tried everything for years.

Don't ask me. I've had a bug of some sort the past 2 days. Fever, chills, and nausea.

This soup I'm sipping (and some grapes) are the first solid food I've had in over 24 hours. Just water, Advil and Immodium.

I usually eat antacids up like candy!

I don't think I get heart burn.

dont tell him! he addressed it to the "WISE MEN"! :rwmad:

I am a man, didn't you know ;)

ah! ;)

choccy milkshake ice cold

Although I am not a wise man, I will answer your question.

Do you have a box of baking soda? If not, get one, cause baking soda is the best cure for heartburn. Put about a teaspoonful (heaping) in a glass, add some water (I dunno how much, enough to drink in a few swallows but not so much that it takes forever to drink). In a few moments you will have one big hella burp, and your heartburn will be gone. Baking soda neutralizes acid. If you use too much baking soda at once, it will cause some pain as the gasses expand in your stomach, so don't be retarded.

Fun fact: Your kidneys make sodium bicarbonate to neutralize the acid in your blood.

^oh! I didnt know that about the kidneys! cool.

My grandma's kidneys are failing, so I have had to learn stuff, lol. She was throwing some of her pills away, namely the sodium bicarbonate, so I had to research it to find out why the Dr wanted her to take them. She is stubborn... as soon as she starts feeling better she thinks she should stop taking her medication.
