Official Trek 11 countdown/news thread

Apparently he wrote a story where humans needed air to breath, now he's suing everyone who's ever wrote a story where people dont immediatly aphysxiate on page one.

Teaser trailer with Cloverfield on January 18th. 11 months before the movie is far too early, in my opinion!

Well considering they will only have been filming for a few weeks, and probably don't have any FX footage ready, its probably going to be a 30 second slow pan up a blue original series science top, until you finally get to new Spock's face, you'll here Zac say "fascinating", and that will be it.

Someone said it's going to be a CGI sequence of the Enterprise being constructed.

hahaha you watch star trek you're all nerds BIGTIME

The grey ones look very Star Wars, but the red one that Chris Pine was spotted in wasn't so bad. Still, I really hope they're just Starfleet Academy uniforms and that they'll use something more like the originals(EXACTLY like the originals, preferably) since they're awfully iconic and still look pretty good.

AND CANON. ALWAYS CANON.

Rachel Nichols as Orion (slave?) girl, some guy from Stargate in the movie.

The "some guy" was in the running as Scotty(he's Scottish!), but only ended up with a small part.

There's also some woman from The Fifth Element who I don't recognise.

Star Trek's Karl Urban: Young Bones Is Still an "Irascible Humanist"

Will the space cadets we meet in J.J. Abrams' much-anticipated Star Trek origin film aptly mirror the eventual Enterprise crew we now know and love? Karl Urban, who plays Dr. McCoy, tells TVGuide.com: "The movie is very, very faithful to the spirit of the original series and the characters that were created in the '60s." For example, Urban's Bones "is the lovable, irascible humanist that he has always been [and] a good friend of Jim Kirk." That said, he believes "J.J. is going to reinvigorate this franchise in a fresh and exciting way."

Can Trek fans look forward to young Bones delivering one of his trademark "I'm a doctor, not a [blank]" lines? "I can't say!" Urban, who stars CBS' Comanche Moon (premiering Jan. 13), answers with a laugh. "I would love to tell you, but... I'm not allowed to say."
The answer is "of course Bones will say that at least once, what are you some kind of retard we don't want to be run out of town by those mouth-breathers with broadband"

I hope he gets the accent right.

Well he's playing a cowboy or something at the moment, so he can develop a good accent in that.

Meanwhile, Nimoy's posted another blog over on Trekmovie, though I can't help imagining him saying it in a bored tone.

Wow, that tells you absolutely nothing.

I cant wait for Nimoy blog 3

"The caffiteria is excellent, they have a nice selection of gaffilta fish."

Shatner said he hopes the movie bombs, according to some losers on TrekBBS.

Those same losers at TrekBBS can't wipe properly, according to common sense.

Koybashi Maru test in the movie...does anyone really care?

They should rename it the Piper Maru test, then get Gillian Andersons daughter to be one of the cadets.
