Official Trek 11 countdown/news thread

Yeah, I think they could get around the continuity thing, if they never learn they're Romulans. This movie is starting to sound better.

Remember in Enterprise they saw Romulans but they were wearing HELMETS so their ears weren't seen! GENIUS, BIG BRAGA, GENIUS.

You took the words right out of my mouth

ew, and they're all slobbery

I hope there's some REMAN SLAVES rowing the pirate ship.

No.

:(

I dont think this is cannon either

Star Trek XI: To Boldly Glom Onto A Brand Name Without Any Regard For Its Established Market

That was Enterprise.

Yeah, think what we're in for here is Enterprise: The Motion Picture

Well, no one who was creatively involved in Enterprise is involved in this and there's an entirely different cast and balnd Romulans.

I wouldn't say anyone involved with Enterprise was "creatively" involved -- I just don't think it's right to sully the word 'creatively' that way.

Still, the spirit on the boards seems to be the same -- the production team is going to fuck with TOS, and all the little fuckin' teeny-boppers who grew up on Voyager think that's just swell.

I think there's a chance it could be a good movie, that's all.

I'm feeling less hostile towards it now. Perhaps I won't hate it. I hope not.

Especially if there's tribbles in it.

I think John Eaves (who designed the overly advanced looking Romulan ships in Enterprise) is involved in this movie, actually. He has a habit of making everything too pointy.

Aye he is, but he's been involved with Star Trek since Deep Space Nine, and also designed the Enterprise E.

I don't care what they do with Star Trek continuity, I just hope that it is a good movie movie.

Yeah, on DS9 I think he designed the Dominion warship (pointy) and although I like the Ent-E, it's also a bit too elongated, with its pointy nacelles. I much prefer Andrew Probert (he's a bit wacky sometimes) and Rick Sternbach (dull perhaps, but believable).

Rick got screwed over, 20 years of loyal model building tossed aside with the move to CGI
